Ministries of Congregational Care

In the midst of difficult times, it helps to have someone to care, to listen and to share God's love. The Caring Ministries of First Methodist Plano help strengthen your ability to manage stress, uncertainty or loneliness and to experience God's grace, hope and peace.

Care Ministers

These trained volunteers provide telephone care to persons who have been hospitalized, suffered a significant loss in their lives, or have an ongoing health concern. Care Ministers respect the confidentiality of the persons receiving care and are a vital extension of the pastoral care ministries of our church. For more information please contact Rev. Alice Coder at acoder@firstmethodistplano.org or Leilani Edds at bl.edds@gmail.com.

Extending the Table Home Communion Ministry

These volunteers receive training to visit and serve communion at home to those who are unable to attend worship on the first Sunday of the month. Participants will learn not only how to provide this ministry but why. For more information please contact Rev. Alice Coder at acoder@firstmethodistplano.org.

Health Ministry

This ministry is constantly developing ways to care for the congregation and community through health education, health screening, blood drives, vaccinations, nutritional and exercise programs, and more.  For more information please contact health@firstmethodistplano.org.

Prayer Ministry

The concerns of our congregation, community and world are kept in prayer by the 11th Hour Prayer Team at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, by our Prayer Partners who covenant to pray for each person on the list at least once a week at home, and by other members of the congregation.

To add a name to our prayer list, please contact Peggy Finkel at pfinkel@firstmethodistplano.org

To become a prayer partner please contact Joyce Langford at travis-langford@sbcglobal.net.
