Mature Adults Ministry

A Ministry targeted to adults from 60+

This ministry plans and provides programs and activities for those who are Senior Adults. That is those who desire to have fellowship, fun and engage in various activities in connection with the church.

 

This ministry sponsors day trips to various place around Plano and the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Longer trips are planned to places such as Branson, Mo., seven night cruises to various ports of call. Shorter overnight trips have also been planned but not carried out to date.

 

The "First Senior Fellowship" meets at 9:30 AM on the Third Thursday of each month. Table games and bridge are a part of the activities. Special programs are presented from time to time. A noon meal of some type is always a part of the activity.

 

Upcoming Events

 

"Sail Away to the Caribbean" You are invited to join Rev. Dale Swain and others on a wonderful seven night cruise on Royal Caribbean International. The sailing date is April 20 thru April 27, 2008. A $500.00 per person deposit will hold your stateroom at this time by contacting Rev. Dale Swain at 972 423 4506 ext 110 or 214 823 7894 or by E-mail at marydale2001@aol.com The final payment will be due February 1, 2008. There are still fine staterooms with balconies available. We will leave from First United Methodist Church by 8:30 AM on Sunday April 20, 2008 and return to the church on Sunday April 27, 2008. The total cost of this cruise at this time is $1300.00 per person. This includes the port charges, taxes, gratuities on the ship and transportation. The ship will sail from Galveston and the bus will drop us at the pier.

 

January 17, 2008 The "First Senior Fellowship" will meet at the church at 9:30 AM for fellowship and table games. The meal will be Chili and chips. The program will be "R.U.O.K" sponsored by the city of Plano and information about the"Plain-O-Helpers" program. You may call Rev. Swain at 972 423 4506 ext 110 to make reservations or sign up at the First Senior Ministry Table at the church on Sundays. 

 

January 23, 2008 is the date of our next "Welcome Home Our Troops" program. This is a trip to Dallas-Fort Worth Airport for this activity and if the plane comes in the morning the groups has the opportunity to go out for lunch.
